Twins' Nathan has torn elbow ligament (AP)

In this photo taken on March 6, 2010, Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Nathan, right, with teammates Justin Morneau, left, and Orlando Hudson (1), looks away before walking off the mound after pitching part of the third inning against the Boston Red Sox in a spring training baseball game in Fort Myers, Fla. Nathan has a torn ligament in his throwing elbow. General Manager Bill Smith says the plan is to rest Nathan for two weeks, eliminate the soreness and build strength in his elbow before making any decisions about surgery.

The Minnesota Twins suddenly have a glaring concern about closing games for the first time since Joe Nathan took over in 2004. Tests on Nathan's right throwing elbow have revealed a significant tear in the ulnar collateral ligament, an injury that could require season-ending Tommy John surgery. Nathan's 246 saves over six seasons are the most in the majors during that span.

A-Rod to interview with feds soon (AP)

New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez looks at his bat before taking batting practice during baseball spring training at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Fla., Monday, March 1, 2010. Federal agents reportedly questioned Rodriguez in connection with a Canadian doctor they are investigating who provided an unapproved substance to baseball players.

Alex Rodriguez says his lawyers are setting up an interview with federal authorities as part of an investigation into a Canadian doctor who is the focus of a cross-border drug smuggling case involving human growth hormone. The Yankee slugger would like the interview to be in Tampa so his spring training will not be disrupted, although the site is under discussion.
