The site offers book clubs, book uploads and a web-based book reader with shared annotation and instant messaging.
How it works?
After you sign up, choose from their collection of books and start reading. As you read, you have options to either join in a discussion on the left hand side of the reader or post a comment on the right hand side.
You can read any of the books uploaded in full length. You can even upload your own version and share with others.
Their comments tool, which is called the Marking tool, is a way to “highlight” text and leave your commentary in regards to very specific items in the book.
These markings are available for other readers, who can choose to view your notes when they come across that section of the text, leave their own to build out the discussion.
You can also join groups devoted to a certain author or type of book, and if you want to restrict your group to just close friends, you can create a private book club.

BookGlutton.com was founded by Travis Alber and Aaron Miller who have eleven years of web experience mainly in the field of writing and developing.
Personal Views
There are already many book readers communities on web. Standing out among them needs some innovation - BookGlutton do have something like real time discussions and commenting but that alone wont be able to attract such a huge crowd. An integration with social networks might help them.
