It provides links to many different content providers on the internet who offer video in both standard and high definition, and in a wide variety of video players and technologies.

Clicker either plays the video on its site or links you to where this content is shown on another hosting site - like NBC or Hulu.

Huge Database of Video Content

As of now it has indexed more than 450,000 episodes, from over 6,000 shows, from over 1,200 networks, tens of thousands of movies, and 50,000 music videos from 20,000 artists.

The service also allows you to search through premium content including Netflix’s Instant Streaming movies and Amazon Video on Demand.

The site also offers music videos, and has started teaming up with schools to index their lectures and other original content.

Provide DVR Functionality

To make it fast and easy to find a show you want to watch right now, Clicker is one part directory, one part search engine, one part wiki, one part entertainment guide, and one part DVR which allow you to track the availability of online programs and a season pass feature to monitor favorite programs.

Clicker also has a Boxee app that pulls in metadata for shows, channels and actors.

Company Insight

The Los Angeles-based company was founded in January 2009 and it raised $8 million in a first round from Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures. Quite recently it has closed an $11 million Series B funding round led by JAFCO Ventures.
