Hey All

Its been long since we made a public appearance. Finally today is the big day!! We have to make one really big announcement.

Gajeebo.com has been redesigned and relaunched with a totally new concept of an aggregate search engine. Though the original concept of rating and reviews for a site still remains at glimpse, Gajeebo now offers keyword based search results which are aggregated from many sources.

The “Best Of Sources” are Yahoo, Google, Technoratti, Twitter, BBC, Picasa, Flickr, PhotoBucket, YouTube, MetaCafe, Bloglines, Yahoo & Wiki Answers and more would be added as our commited users demand more from us.

Below is the snapshot of Gajeebo.com. Have a look at various tabs such as “on web”, “gajeebo”, “reel life”, “in news”,”pics”, “blogs”,”whats boiling”, “shop” and “queries”.

Gajeebo - Aggregated Search Provider - Search Images, Videos, News, Blogs and Questions

We envision to help our users find aggregated information for a topic/ keyword including videos, images, news and blogs written on that topic.

Our concept is new and experimental but is the need of this hour; As more and more services plug on web, Its getting tougher and tougher to find all relevant information at one place.

Gajeebo as quoted by our tagline “Your Search Ends Here” will be the one stop search platform, where you will find the best information on one particular topic. You dont have to search at 15 different places now.

Do pour in with your feedback and queries as we love to be of assistance of you!!

Hakia - First Meaning-based Search Engine

Hakia - First Meaning-based Search Engine

Hakia - First Meaning-based Search Engine

Hakia is a general purpose semantic search engine, dedicated to quality search experience which uses partial human filtered results to help get past the typical search results. Today’s search engines bring popular results via statistical ranking methods but a popular Web site may not always be credible, and a credible Web site may not always be popular. As a result, searchers suffer in many ways ranging from wasted search time to using misleading information.

Hakia’s semantic technology provides a new search experience that is focused on quality, not popularity. Hakia’s quality search results satisfy three criteria simultaneously: They (1) come from credible Web sites recommended by librarians, (2) represent the most recent information available, and (3) remain absolutely relevant to the query. Users will find that Hakia search results are organized in a tabbed format that clearly distinguishes results as Web results, Hakia Credible Sites, images and news. This new tabbed format reinforces the delivery of focus, clarity and credibility in Hakia search.

Semantic search technology enables accurate retrieval of information via concept or meaning match. The technology is effective, as it is perhaps the only method that can be appropriately applied to credible and dynamic content. Most of this type of content is statistically flat for popularity algorithms (conventional search engines like Google) to work effectively beyond common queries.

Hakia.com search engine is currently operating in BETA mode while the development and analysis are underway. They are currently indexing credible content in verticals such as medicine, finance, law, science, travel, arts, history, as well as other content-rich topics. Hakia’s language coverage is primarily English. However, the coverage of Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Turkish is underway. Eventually, they plan to cover all languages spoken by significant number of people.
