Totlol - Community Moderated Video Website for Kids
Posted by ilovegajeebo in Daily Featured Websites on January 20th, 2010
Totlol is a community moderated video website designed specifically for children. It lists the best Youtube videos for kids, submitted, screened and rated by parents.
How does it work ?
Parents scan the YouTube movie database via a special scouting tool on Totlol. When they find a video that they think is good for children under 6 years old, they tag it, add a description, and submit it to the database.
The video then enters a screening queue where other parents are asked to answer whether it is appropriate for the site and for which age group the video would be most enjoyed.
The screening answers are analyzed algorithmically and only videos that parents collectively deem age appropriate are added to the sites library.
Different Videos Categories
In Totlol video discovery service, all video collections are play lists of videos grouped by subject or theme. It includes Animal, Animated, Educational, Music and Dance videos.
In addition to the many existing collections, search results, tags, and subject categories can also be played as a collection.

How It Works?
You don’t have to subscribe to RSS feeds in LazyFeed. You can simply select topics manually or type tag or single-word search term, and LazyFeed will return videos, photos, and blog posts tagged with that term.

It indexes about 100,000 of the most popular blogs and organizes posts by topic. The hottest topics, as determined by related tags, pop up to the top.
Features of LazyFeed
Monitor
As you first start using Lazyfeed, you will have your own space called “Monitor”. You can even add as many topics as you like to your Monitor and watch live updates on those topics.
Tile
Each topic you add will look like a tile that updates itself automatically. When there’s new content on a topic, the tile will turn yellow and update itself.
Browser
Each tile when pressed, will open up a live update page for the topic. These pages will open in an internal browser, where all contents are sorted by time.
